Overview

Attention incoming 11th and 12th grade musicians! Are you ready to take your skills to the next level and join an elite ensemble of talented musicians? Then apply now for our exclusive audition-only Honor Band at Sea, featuring world-renowned conductor and composer Dr. Jack Stamp.


This unique program is reserved for the most dedicated and talented young musicians who are ready to challenge themselves and take their musical Talents to new heights. Under the guidance of Dr. Jack Stamp, you'll have the opportunity to refine your skills and develop your musical talents to their fullest potential.


This isn't just any music program. The 2026-27 Honor Band at Sea takes place on a luxurious cruise ship, where you'll sail through stunning scenery and experience the thrill of performing in a world-class venue at sea. About Dr. Jack Stamp

Jack Stamp is Director of Band Studies Emeritus at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he was awarded the title of "University Professor" for the 2008-2009 academic year at IUP. This is the highest award the university gives to a professor. He is currently International Composer in Association to the Grimethorpe Colliery Brass Band and is an Honorary Patron of the Eynsford Concert Band (Kent, England). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Indiana University of PA, a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from East Carolina University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Wind Conducting from Michigan State University where he studied with Eugene Corporon.  His primary composition teacher was Robert Washburn. Additional studies include work with Fisher Tull, Evan Copley, David Diamond, Joan Tower and Richard Danielpour.


His wind band music has been both commissioned performed by major university and military bands here and abroad.  Recent projects include commissions and premieres by the North Texas Wind Symphony, Grimethorpe Colliery Band, Uptown Brass (brass quintet of the Minnesota Orchestra), and the Barcelona Clarinet Players.


His primary publishers include Neil Kjos Music, C. Alan Publications, Knightwind Music and Murphy Music Press.
